Some consumers prefer a hybrid workout style, allowing them to access their fitness program at home or in the gym.

This post-pandemic era transformed how we approach exercising and, in other cases, improved our consistency since we could do it without stepping out of our houses. For people who have yet to return to the gym, it’s comforting to know that your workout is right at your fingertips.

Hundreds of fitness apps are available whether you own an iPhone or Android. This can be overwhelming if you are trying to decide which is best for your requirements. Are you a total beginner in running or yoga? Depending on what you’re looking for, various apps will work best for you.

Conveniently, many of these apps provide free trials for the first. You can give them a fair check and make your decision to plan to get committed. Use the research list of the best fitness apps as a guide at home and in the gym.

Best Overall Workout App - Nike Training Club

Nike Training Club was my go-to app when I started working out regularly. Some workout programs include bodyweight exercises, (HIIT) high-intensity interval training, cross-training, core exercises, and yoga. Additionally, it even provides health tips by expert trainers to keep your track record.

The workouts are simple to follow because video demonstrations of every exercise are within the allotted time. The app also can attach to your Smartwatch to provide health metrics (like heart rates and your logs activities). Another significant part about this app is that it’s free and allows many resources, whether you’re a beginner or more advanced.

Best Personal Training App - Future

The Future app is unique because it provides an elite personal fitness coach, who checks your routine regularly, gives feedback, and customizes the workout according to your body. They consider your fitness level, goals, and even what equipment is available to you.

To begin the app, you need to answer a short quiz about your likes or dislikes in a workout and what kind of coach you will be required to set your aim.

Only iOS consumers can use this app, but developers are also working on Android consumers access to get the whole experience. At $149 monthly, Future is a less affordable app on the market. Still, compared to a typical personal session, which can be expensive. You can get the first month’s plan for $19.

Best Boutique Fitness App - Peloton

Peloton indoor cycling exploded in popularity over the pandemic situation. The digital app, available to non-Peloton consumers, provides consumers access to Peloton’s library of on-demand workouts, from running, cycling, yoga, stretching, and pilates.

The difference between membership (all-access) available to Peloton consumers and the digital app is that the former permits you to make multiple member profiles, exclusive classes, and reasonable access to the Leadership board, where you can compete against other consumers.

The cost doesn’t hurt, either. The first-month plan is usually a trail base free. Then from the second month, it will cost $13 monthly, allowing you to access thousands of on-demand and live classes through your smartphones, tablet, Television, or web browser.

Best Running App - Strava
Best Running App - Strava

If you’re searching for an app that can track your running mileage, the Strava app is best. The app is GPS powered with iOS or Android smartphones into a detailed performance monitor. It gets attached to your heart rate monitors and other popular GPS devices, such as an Apple Smart Watch, FitBit, Garmin, or a Suunto watch.

It also connects with your friends, who can cheer you while commenting on your posts after your workout, to your Strava feed. You can keep your data or your routines private then you can do that while changing the settings through the app. One of the latest safety features on the Strava app is the Beacon, which shares your location in real time with an emergency contact.

I’ve found the accessible version of the app to be sufficient for my purposes. Still, you can update it to receive more detailed data and various perks, such as building your routes, accessing new trails in your area, and many more. The paid version of the app will cost you $8 monthly. Strava offers a free two-month trial to consumers who want to try out their updated aspects before committing.
